Abstract:Objective To understand the deafness or hearing impairment in the elderly who complained of hearing loss over 60 years old,and to explore the effectiveness of drug therapy. Methods Sixty patients with complaint of hearing loss admitted to our hospital from January to September 2018 were selected as the study subjects, all patients were examined by pure tone audiometry and acoustic immittance test. They were assessed according to the hearing loss classification established by the World Health Organization. The hearing thresholds of different age groups were investigated. The patients with hearing loss were treated with microcirculation improvement and neurotrophic therapy for 2 to 4 weeks, the pure tone hearing threshold level was tested after 1 month to evaluate the intervention effect. Results A total of 60 patients,54 had hearing loss in 105 ears, hearing loss is mainly concentrated in the mild, moderate, moderate and severe and severe stages with hearing threshold of 26-<90 dB.There were significant differences in pure tone hearing thresholds between different age groups and different frequencies (P<0.05),which tended to increase with the increase of age.The total effective rate of drug treatment was 14.81%.Conclusion Elderly people over 60 years old mostly suffer from hearing loss in varying degrees, the degree of hearing loss increases with age,and the effect of drug treatment is not good.
